Hi, I’m Steve Greenberg. This is my blog. It’s my place to write about software, product design, and trends I see taking place on the internet.
I’ve been in the software industry for more than twenty years. I’ve been a coder, technical writer, consultant, done pre-sales, moved to product management, then strategy, and founded my own company (RIP), and landed back in product. Over the course of that time, I’ve developed some pretty strong opinions. Throughout most of my career, you weren’t supposed to speak publicly about what you were working on, so my blogging at PuzzlingEvidence.NET has been mostly about personal stuff and general silliness. Check out the Best Of category for a taste of what I do there. Today, finally, I’m free to write about whatever I want, so it’s time to talk software.
My father told me that the secret to happiness was to “figure out what you’re going to do anyway, then get somebody to pay you to do it”. For me, that’s software. I just love the stuff. This is where mind naturally drifts when there’s nothing else going on. The way that some people fish, build models, or play poker, I have software.
I’m greenbes on twitter, aim, yahoo, and skype. Feel free to ping me and say hello. Leave a comment on a post you liked (or didn’t). The best insights come from conversation. My only requirement is that you be respectful to me and each other.
My resume is on LinkedIn. Like what you see? Make me an offer.
Finally, and most importantly, I already know that my jokes aren’t funny. Please don’t be disappointed if I’m not surprised when you point this out.
